The first paragraph is written without watching the TIEE video, and the second is written after watching the video.
Imagine yourself walking into school and seeing everyone walking around wearing whatever they want, with unique colors and styles all around you.You are wearing whatever you want, and everyone else is as well. Now imagine yourself walking into school and seeing the same color, over and over and over. Every day; and you are wearing the same thing too. A dress code would take away a student’s ability to express themselves, and may also take away a sense of freedom. The school environment would most likely become more boring and bland, and students would lose enthusiasm in what they wear. Lots of teens like to wear new clothes to school, but they would lose this privilege with a dress code. It could be more difficult for students to find a sweatshirt approved by the dress code on a cold day, so they would violate the code and get in trouble.
One reason I stand against a school dress code is because the school environment would lose enthusiasm and become boring and repetitive. In our school system if there was a dress code, every day you would only see blue and gold. Students would have hardly anything to look forward to at school, and teachers as well. When people receive new clothes for Christmas or for other reasons, they would have almost no time to wear them. From personal experience, when everyone wears the same color T-shirt at a football game or an assembly, it looks really cool. Although, seeing the same type of outfit every day everywhere you look would get sore on the eyes. All in all, If everyone was forced into a dress code, there would be a lot of conflict throughout the student body.
